Fair Week

Well, fair is over, and I have to say that I'm glad it is. It was the first time for us to ever have livestock at the fair, and it means a lot more time spent there than when you are just taking in and dropping off your projects. It was a lot of fun for all the kids though, and I know created a lot of memories they won't soon forget! A big thanks to grandma and grandpa who helped out with the calves as well!

As can be seen, a lot of time was spent in the livestock barns and on the grounds, loving, feeding, washing, and walking "Rusty" and "Shadow" around.

We also went to the parade --

and the rodeo!
Elliott ended up getting blue ribbons on his photographs and bucket calf - they had to know where different cuts of beef were on the calf - we weren't prepared for that! A red on his woodworking project - a shelf - and a purple on his rocket! I think he did a great job. Matigan did a great job talking to the judge - as a Cloverbud, she gets participation ribbons, but she still did a great job and also helped the boys a lot with their calves!
Also exciting was that Elliott and Kaleb's picture and interview made it into the local paper! Elliott was very proud of himself.

Way to go, Elliott and Matigan! Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the fair and that you did a great job! Wish we could have seen everything in person, but it was such fun to look at the pictures! Love you guys!
