Thanksgiving

Over Thanksgiving, Kris' sister from Florida came to vist along with her daugther Emily. We had a great time ice skating in Manhattan and going to Kansas City. The kids took right off with ice skating. Matigan is trying to decide if she wants to be a professional ice skater when she grows up! :)

We made homemade pizzas one night - they were delicious!

Happy Holidays

The rest of the October Colorado Springs trip which included a visit to the Focus on the Family center, the cograil ride up Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and the Air Force Academy. The weather was great the first two days we were there, but very cold on the day we left.

Focus on the Family:
Pike's Peak Cog Railway:

We couldn't go all the way to the top because the rail was covered in snow! Still had some amazing views.

Made a snowman on our stop halfway down.

Getting water from the springs at Manitoba Springs. It was awful! Found out that this was the worst one of the ten after the fact.
Garden of the Gods - I hadn't been for years. It was different from what I remembered, but still awesome.

On our way back to the hotel, we saw many deer. They were all in the suburbs!! Including these two bucks fighting in someone's back yard. We saw more wildlife in the suburbs than we did anywhere else.
Air Force Academy - it was freezing!!!

Fall Vacation

Last weekend we didn't have school on Friday due to parent-teacher conferences the two previous evenings. Therefore, we decided to take advantage of the 3 day weekend and take a little trip out of town. Our destination . . . Colorado Springs!

Luckily we went when we did. The interstate was closed just a few days before and then it was closed again this weekend. It made us a little nervous about what the weather would be like, but it turned out to be beautiful - especially on Friday morning when we arrived. Our first stop was the Olympic training center.
A replica of the olympic flame cauldron.

The guys - with my dad acting silly.

Beautiful view of Pike's Peak.

More on the rest of our trip to come!

K-State Here We Come!

This weekend, Elliott's 4th grade team had the opportunity to play a football game at KSU stadium. I think he was amazed at how big things looked down on the field.
He got to be a part of the coin toss which he called and won!

Carrying the ball.

We didn't come away with a win, but it was a great experience that won't be forgotten.

Where have we been?

Just take a look . . .

FOOTBALL (Elliott is #19)

SOCCER

CHEERING

If we aren't running to a practice, then we are going to a game. I guess this is what happens when your kids are old enough to participate in a variety of activities. We are having fun though. Kris is helping coach Elliott's football team, and I am coaching Matigan's soccer team.
